Assessment and Management
Speech Therapy consists of completing a series of formal and informal assessments including a detailed patient case history either obtained by the patient or a primary caregiver. Assessments might include; feeding, language (receptive and expressive), literacy, speech, prelinguistic skills, pragmatics and observations. Therapy will differ from person to person and the frequency of therapy will depend on each case as a whole. Management might also include possible referrals to other professionals.
